Match Officials Courses

Ontario Soccer is pleased to announce that 2021 Match Official Accreditation Entry Level and Small Sided Clinics are now open and new Match Official students can register on Ref Centre. Ontario Soccer has received an increased level of interest from many new students for this custom-built system.

Highlights of the new system include:

  • These clinics will no longer have a minimum or maximum number of participants.
  • There is increased flexibility with self-guided online modules which can be worked on at a student’s own pace.
  • Students are only required to attend one webinar.

If a student started but did not complete the course in 2020 and did not receive a refund from the Member Association, they already have been provided with a free clinic registration for 2021. These students have been contacted directly with instructions on how to register.

KUSC Referee Mentoring Program

New this year, KUSC is starting a Referee Mentorship Program which will provide an opportunity to our young referees to officiate a game under the guidance of a more senior Match Official.  The program involves assigning one of our referees to an IntraClub game, most likely on Sunday’s, and a senior Match Official will shadow and provide feedback.  The goal of the program is to develop young referees within a positive learning environment so they have confidence to continue.

KUSC’s plans to run Intraclub games as soon as the Return To Play Guide and Public Health allows.  If you would like to be part of the Referee Mentorship Program please email HeadRef@Kingstonsoccer.ca.
